Indeed, it is very important for a copy protection system to be acknowleged industry-wide, as this will ensure its broad acceptance and deployment.
We participate to and regularly give presentations at the CPTWG (Copy Protection Technical Working Group, http://www.cptwg.org) that gathers companies from the content, CE and IT industries, and meets regularly in Los Angeles.
Together with Canal+ Technologies, Gemplus, Micronas, Nagravision, Pioneer, Schlumberger, and ST Microelectronics, Thomson multimedia answered the DVB-CPT call for proposals for Content Protection and Copy Management Technologies with the SmartRight system. The DVB-CPT group is currently defining the architecture of the system to be proposed for standardization.
